W&C were happy to support Lawyers in the Soup Kitchen at their fundraising launch event for “Brixton on Trial”.
Lawyers in the soup kitchen are an infallible arm of the renowned Brixton Soup Kitchen set up in 2013 by founders Solomon Smith and Mahamed Hashi. The Brixton Soup Kitchen not only offers a hot lunch to those in need but also hosts a food bank, clothes bank and various other community inspired events. Lawyers in the Soup Kitchen offer free legal advice on a Thursday evening to members of the public and are currently launching a new project called “Brixton on Trial”. The mock trial will seek to educate participants on both the processes and procedures of stop and search, criminal investigations and trial.
