Emma joined Wainwright & Cummins in July 2010 after training and qualifying as a solicitor at Fisher Meredith LLP. Emma heads up our social housing team and specialises in social housing law. She is dedicated to enforcing the rights of individuals involved in disputes with local authorities, housing associations and private landlords in all aspects of social housing law and can also provide landlords with general tenancy advice.
Emma is on the advisory committee for Young Legal Aid Lawyers and is a member of the Housing Law Practitioners’ Association.
She is recommended for her knowledge of social housing tenant work in the recently launched 2011 edition of the ‘Legal 500’, an independent legal directory, as being; ‘very knowledgeable and committed’ and had a successful appeal case regarding intentional homelessness reported earlier last year.
Emma is involved in campaigning on housing issues and works closely with voluntary advice organisations such as the Lambeth Citizens Advice Bureau, the Brixton Advice Centre, the St Giles Trust and Action for Refugees in Lewisham (AFRIL) in assisting those with housing problems and particularly in homelessness and eviction matters.
