Curtis Myrie

Prison Law and Criminal Department

Curtis is dual qualified (barrister and practising solicitor) and heads our prison law department. He is experienced across the whole range of prison law matters and specialises in adjudications, parole board oral hearings and prison related judicial review (the process by which the high court is asked to review and correct unlawful action taken by a public body like the prison service).

Curtis also works within the criminal department and conducts cases involving minor offences such as theft and public disorder, and serious offences like murder and rape. Most notably he has represented a client accused of conspiring to import class A drugs which involved him travelling to gang controlled areas of Jamaica to gather crucial defence evidence.

With expertise in both prison and criminal law Curtis is best suited to assist those accused of committing criminal offences whilst on parole license. His sensitive but tenacious approach also makes him ideal to represent particularly vulnerable clients.
