The following are a selection of cases from the last two years where Robyn has won.
Fraud
R v. Brzoska
Client accused of fraud and wrongful retention of credit. Client acquitted of both offences after two trials at the Crown Court.
Drugs supply
R v. Hollick
Client accused of possession with intent to supply controlled drug of Class A. Client acquitted after Crown Court trial. The client's refusal to be interviewed did not amount to a reason for an adverse inference to be drawn after a legal argument by Robyn who also exposed inconsistencies in the police evidence.
GBH
R v. Kamir
Client accused of Grievous Bodily Harm with intent S.18. Client acquitted following Crown Court trial during which Police evidence was undermined and the bad character of two prosecution witnesses was admitted into evidence upon Robyn's application.
ABH
R v. Wesley Chambers
Client was accused of actual bodily harm during a disturbance in a night club. Client acquitted after Crown Court trial after Robyn exposed a flawed police investigation.
Appeals
R v. Watkins
Client was advised to appeal against a conviction in the Magistrates' Court for common assault. Defects in the prosecution witnesses statements were exposed durring the appeal hearing at Crown Court and the appeal was allowed.
R v. Antonades
The client's dog was ordered to be destroyed by the Magistrate's Court even though the safety of the public could be preserved with conditions on a 'contingent destruction order'. This means that the destruction order continues in force but is not activated unless the owner fails to comply with the safety measures. Robyn successfully appealed the sentence at the Crown Court which replaced the destruction order with a contingent destruction order.
Other cases:
Murder
R v. Bakhit
The client was indicted for Murder. The victim had been stabbed and disected after death, her body being stored in three suitcases prior to being driven into the country and being set ablaze. Robyn was Junior Counsel in the trial led by Paul Purnell QC. Robyn earned the respect of his leader with his painstaking examination and analysis of unused material. The client was sentenced to Life Imprisonment.
R v. Reid
A Proceeds of Crime case involving £1.5 million where painstaking attention to detail led to the Crown withdrawing proceedings.
