Tariq joined the firm in March 2009.
Prior to joining, Tariq worked for a specialised criminal defence firm as a caseworker. He is an accredited Police Station Representative and has extensive experience in Magistrates' Court and Crown Court procedure. Prior to relocating to the United Kingdom, he lived in the United States where he worked for various civil rights organisations.
Tariq graduated from George Mason University in the United States and has degrees in biology and history. He completed his Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course at the College of Law. While at the College, he was a member of the College of Law Journal and his published articles include one which discusses the elements required to prove guilt at the International Criminal Court. He was awarded the College of Law 2007 Pro Bono Student Of The Year Award and the Law Society's 2007 Young Lawyer Pro Bono Award.
